JobSeeker Payments COVID-19

JobSeeker Payments (fortnightly through Centrelink)

If you are already getting one of the eligible payments (see my previous posts for the list), you do not need to do anything. You will be automatically paid from 27 April 2020 and will continue to receive the supplement each fortnight if you are eligible for up to 6 months.

You may be eligible if you are:

  • An Australian citizen Australian Resident.

  • A permanent employee who has been stood down or sacked.

  • A sole trader, self-employed, casual worker or contract worker who now earns less than $1,075 a fortnight as a result of the economic downturn.

  • Caring for someone who has COVID-19.

  • Unemployed and your partner earns less than $79,762/year (approx. $3k/fortnight) - not accessing.

If you are not yet registered with Centrelink, you will need a Customer Access Number (CAN) to apply for this online through MyGov (you can see this in previous correspondence you have received from Centrelink). If you do not have a CAN, go to Centrelink or call and confirm your identity. Find out more
